About me
All of life’s lessons, hard knocks, defeats, and victories turn into grit. You can practically hear the hustle in Enisa’s voice. Her petite frame belies a range as tall as the Empire State Building punctuated by blunt and bluesy Brooklyn sass. The New York-born Albanian singer and songwriter spikes pop with raw soul and endless attitude. After posting up 15.8 million views and 3 million streams independently, she amplifies this voice like never before on a series of singles for Atlantic Records. “I’m a hustler,” she exclaims. “Living in Brooklyn, the New York City mentality is so embedded within you. You never stop. You never give up. I dream so big it motivates me. I write some real shit. I don’t wait around for anybody to make it happen. Instead, I work my ass off.” In essence, she spent her whole life preparing for this journey as a first-generation American born to Albanian immigrant parents. At just six-years-old, she taped over an old Harry Potter VHS with a Britney Spears concert. Obsessed with Britney, she practically wore out In The Zone in her portable CD player. In between listening to Albanian music with mom and dad, she often waited by the radio for JAY-Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” to come on, religiously spun Usher’s Confessions, and eventually discovered the likes of Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse. In fourth grade, she developed a passion for performing by assuming the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Two years later, she shutdown a middle school talent show with her rendition of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” as the lead singer of her school’s rock band. “I knew I loved to be on stage then,” she smiles.
